Marianne DahlMarianne Dahl is Senior Researcher and Research Director of the Conflict Patterns and Environments Department at the Peace Research Institute Oslo. She also serves as Deputy Editor of the Journal of Peace Research and holds a PhD in Political Science from NTNU. Her research examines the dynamics of mass mobilization, regime loyalty shifts, and political change, with a particular emphasis on how collective action, security-force defection and armed conflict shape regime trajectories and post-conflict stability. She has contributed to several large-scale data collection efforts, including the Opposition Groups Movements dataset (1789–2019). Within PRIO’s nonviolent mobilization portfolio, she has played a central leadership role in several research projects, including Street-Level Autocrats, Securing the Victory, and Mobilizing for and against Democracy.
