Staffan I. Lindberg

Staffan I. Lindberg is a professor of political science at the University of Gothenburg. He holds a PhD from Lund University and is the Founding Director of the Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) Institute. V-Dem Institute is a world leading research center on democracy measurement. In addition to being a founder, he is a Principal Investigator for Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem). His research focuses on democratization, democratic backsliding, elections, and political accountability. Lindberg has published extensively on global democratic trends and has served as an advisor to international organizations, governments, and state authorities on issues related to democracy and governance.
