Nobel Peace Prize Award Ceremony

Location: Oslo City Hall, Fridtjof Nansens plass, Oslo

Wednesday 10 December at 13:00 CET.

 

The 2025 Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony takes place in Oslo City Hall.
The ceremony contains artistic performances and the speech of Chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee.

 

We are working under the assumption that the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Maria Corina Machado will deliver the Nobel lecture.

 

The speech by the Chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Jørgen Watne Frydnes, and the Nobel Lecture given by  Maria Corina Machado, will be sent to accredited press on the morning of 10 December under embargo.


The speeches will also be published at nobelprize.org and nobelpeaceprize.org on 10 December at 13:00 CET.

Tuesday 9 December between 11:00 and 12:00 and 18:00 and 19:00
If this is not possible, they can be collected at the event check-in

 

The ceremony will be held in English.

 

Practical information:

  • Press entrance from the Western Tower of Oslo City Hall
  • All bags will be screened by security staff and/or the police before journalists are granted access to Oslo City Hall.
  • Registration and security check between 11:00 and 12:30
  • Please bring
    • The email confirmation from [email protected] verifying their accreditation
    • Valid ID (physical Norwegian driver’s license, Norwegian national ID card, or passport) must be presented. Press ID is not considered valid identification
  • As TV/video recording or livestreaming via mobile phone is not allowed inside the City Hall during the ceremony, technical equipment such as video cameras, tripods, and microphones – except for radio reporters – may not be brought into the City Hall
  • Media room in the City Hall is open until 16:00
  • Live coverage on large screen
  • Coffee/snack bar

 

Important information:

  • Photo availability from the balustrade only
  • No availability for individual interviews
  • No TV/video recording or livestream via mobile phone allowed inside the City Hall.
  • TV crews are encouraged to cover the ceremony from the People’s Peace Celebration (Folkets Fredsfest) at Rådhusplassen, where facilities will be available for media coverage
