Workshop: Autocracies as International Lawmakers
Kim Angell, Research Program Manager at the Norwegian Nobel Institute, will take part in the opening of the workshop Autocracies as International Lawmakers, which will be organised by the University of Oslo and co-supported by the Norwegian Nobel Institute.
The Day 1 public event will feature a panel discussion with leading scholars, including Tom Ginsburg (University of Chicago), Carl Henrik Knutsen (University of Oslo), and Kjersti Lohne (UiO), who will explore the growing role of autocracies in shaping international legal norms. Kim Angell will deliver welcome remarks alongside colleagues from the University of Oslo.
Over the following two days, invited researchers will examine themes such as authoritarian narratives at the UN, autocratic influence in international courts, and the resilience of liberal norms. The workshop will bring together perspectives from law, political science, and international relations to assess the evolving global legal order.
