There will be a short press conference outside the Gardermoen VIP terminal on 8 December. There is no possibility of waiting inside the terminal.

Representatives of the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize laureates Ales Bjaljatski, Memorial and Center for Civil Liberties will be present a press conference at the Norwegian Nobel Institute.

The press conference is held in English, with simultaneous translations to/from Belarusian, Russian and Ukrainian with a Q & A format 
The press conference is open to accredited media only.
Doors open at 11:00 and close at 12:15

A show made by and for children, with the Nobel Peace Prize laureates as guests of honour.  Children from 5th, 6th or 7th grade are in the audience.

Nobel Peace Prize Award Ceremony

Saturday 10 December at 13:00 – 14.30

Location: Oslo City Hall, Fridtjof Nansens plass, Oslo

The 2022 Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony takes place in Oslo City Hall.
The ceremony contains artistic performances and the speech of Chair of the Nobel Committee. The representatives of the laureates are presented with the diploma and gold medal and finally give their Nobel Lectures

Torchlight procession

Saturday 10 December 18:00 – 19:00

Location: Oslo Central Station to the Grand Hotel

The torchlight procession starts at Oslo Central Station and ends in front of the Grand Hotel, where the laureates greet the parade from the balcony of the Nobel Suite.

The parade is organised by the Norwegian Peace Council.

The Nobel Banquet

Saturday 10 December 19:30

Location: Grand Hotel, Karl Johans gate

More than 200 guests are welcomed by the Nobel Committee to the Nobel Banquet at The Grand Hotel. Seated with the laureates are normally HM The King and HM The Queen, the President of the Storting, the Prime Minister and members of the Nobel Committee. Other guests usually include HRH The Crown Prince and HRH The Crown Princess, ministers, members of the Storting, and representatives of public institutions, non-profit organizations, and cultural and commercial life.

The theme is:
Afghanistan : Finding a way forward

The Nobel Peace Prize Forum 2022 will focus on how to find a way forward for Afghanistan. After the withdrawal of international troops last year and more than a year with the Taliban, the freedom and basic human rights of the Afghan people, especially women, continues to deteriorate. The Nobel Peace Prize Forum will also address the crucial question of whether and how the West should engage with the Taliban.

The Nobel Peace Prize Exhibition

Official opening

Each year, the Nobel Peace Center creates a new photo exhibition about the Nobel Peace Prize laureate in collaboration with internationally acclaimed photographers. Representatives from the laureates will be present at the opening, together with invited guests. The exhibition will be open to the public from 12 December.

Press center: Norwegian Press House

In the days leading up to and during the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize, the Norwegian Press House will function as a press center and be open to accredited journalists who want a place to work, and an inspiring environment while they are in Oslo.

Location: Skippergata 24, Oslo (just a block away from Oslo’s main street, Karl Johan).

10 December from  08:00 to 12:00

Eleven companies and organizations in the media industry have their offices in the house. In addition, the Norwegian Press House is also a venue for meetings, get-togethers and conversations on media and journalism in Norway. We offer debates, seminars, lectures and courses on journalism and related issues. As well as being a place for coffee breaks, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

During the “Nobel Peace Prize Week” Norwegian Press House will offer a variety of debates, master classes and courses. Some are open to the public, some are reserved for the press and politicians.
