At the Norwegian Nobel Institute, you will find archive material relating to the Nobel Peace Prize. Among this material are all the received nomination letters for the Nobel Peace Prize, and other material relating to the Nobel Committee. There are no minutes from the committee meetings relating to the selection process of the Peace Prize. All material on the Nobel Peace Prize and the selection process is under embargo for 50 years.

In addition to the archives of the Nobel Committee, the archive also includes correspondence to and from the Nobel Institute. This correspondence may concern itself with the mundane business of running the Nobel Institute, to correspondence regarding the Nobel Peace Prize.

Access to the archive may be given by application. Please download the application form here. (DOCX, 43KB)

There is now an ongoing project where we digitize the nomination archive. This is done with the help of grants from The Norwegian Archive authorities and the UNI foundation. This material will be accessible through The Digital Archive.
