Nobel Peace Prize Forum 2022

The Nobel Peace Prize Forum 2022 focused on how to find a way forward for Afghanistan. After the withdrawal of international troops in 2021 and more than a year under the Taliban, the freedom and basic human rights of the Afghan people, especially women, continue to deteriorate. The Nobel Peace Prize Forum also addressed the crucial question of whether and how the West should engage with the Taliban.

Keynote speaker: Filippo Grandi, UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Nobel Peace Prize laureate for 1954 and 1981.

Participants: Hillary Clinton, Former Secretary of State, USA, Anniken Huitfeldt, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Norway, Zarifa Ghafari, Afghan activist, politician and former mayor, Hassina Syed, Afghan businesswoman and politician, Peter Jouvenal, Afghanistan expert and former reporter, and Åsne Seierstad, journalist and author.  

Moderator: Erik Aasheim, journalist, author and conference speaker.
