Afghanistan

The Nobel Peace Prize Forum 2022 focused on how to find a way forward for Afghanistan. After the withdrawal of international troops in 2021 and more than a year under the Taliban, the freedom and basic human rights of the Afghan people, especially women, continue to deteriorate. The Nobel Peace Prize Forum also addressed the crucial question of whether and how the West should engage with the Taliban.

The Nobel Peace Prize Forum 2022 was organized by the Norwegian Nobel Institute and made possible with support from the University of Oslo, the City of Oslo and the International Forum for Understanding.
