2021 Nobel Peace Prize Award Ceremony

The Nobel Peace Prize for 2021 was awarded to Maria Ressa and Dmitry Muratov for their efforts to safeguard freedom of expression, which is a precondition for democracy and lasting peace.
The Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony took place at the Oslo City Hall on 10 December 2021. Maria Ressa and Dmitry Muratov were presented the diploma and gold medal, and gave their Nobel Lectures.
Moreover, the World Food Programme, which was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 2020, was represented at the ceremony by its Executive Director David Beasley. Mr. Beasley delivered the Nobel Lecture on behalf of the World Food Programme.
