Torchlight procession
There is a tradition for a torchlight parade in honour of the Nobel Peace Prize laureates.
The torchlight procession starts at Oslo Central Station and ends in front of the Grand Hotel, where the laureates greet the parade from the balcony of the Nobel Suite.
The first ever torchlight procession was organized by Norwegian students in 1954 in honour of Albert Schweitzer who was in Oslo to give his Nobel Lecture. The latest years, the parade has been organised by the Norwegian Peace Coucil.
