Åsne SeierstadÅsne Seierstad is a journalist and writer. Seierstad was stationed in Russia from 1993-1996, and in China in 1997. From 1998 until 2000 she worked for Dagsrevyen on NRK and covered such events as the war in Kosovo. Later she covered conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq, during the American invasion in 2003, for both Norwegian and Swedish TV. She debuted in 2000 with With Their Backs to the World: Portraits of Serbia and received accolades for her contentious publication The Bookseller of Kabul (2002), which was subject to both criticism and legal action. In 2013 she published the book One of Us: The Story of a Massacre in Norwayand Its Aftermath, regarding Anders Breivik’s attacks of July 22, 2011.  The book, based on unique source material made the New York Times bestseller list.  Seierstad has received many national and international awards for her work, both as a journalist and an author. In October, she published her new book about Afghanistan after one year with the Taliban.
