Gjesteforskerprogram
Det Norske Nobelinstitutt huser en forskningsenhet som bistår Den Norske Nobelkomite og driver uavhengig forskning og formidling.
De besøkende forskerne innehar doktorgrad, eller tilsvarende, og har forskningsinteresser som er generelt sammenfallende med Det Norske Nobelinstitutts, og med gjesteforskerprogrammets, tematikk spesielt. Temaet endres fra år til år.
Gjesteforskere har gjerne kortvarig permisjon fra vedkommendes universitet eller forskningsinstitutt. Oppholdet ved Nobelinstituttet er forholdsvis kort, sjelden lengre enn tre måneder. Det gir gjesteforskeren muligheten til å drive egen forskning, holde seminarer og foredrag, samt samarbeide med andre gjesteforskere om prosjekter og publikasjoner.
