Nazanin Boniadi

Actress and Activist

Nazanin Boniadi is a longtime human and women’s rights advocate with a focus on Iran. In 2020, she was appointed an Amnesty International UK Ambassador and was selected for membership in the prestigious Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). From 2009-2015, Boniadi served as a spokesperson for Amnesty International USA (AIUSA). Her work has taken her to Capitol Hill, the White House, the British, Canadian and Australian Parliaments, the Bundestag, and the United Nations. Laurels include the 2020 Freedom House Raising Awareness Award, and 2022 Ellis Island Medal of Honor as well as this year’s recipient of the 2023 Sydney Peace Prize. Boniadi is an acclaimed actor of film and television, most recently starring in Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series.
